🧴 Are your perfumes safe?

Yes. All of our fragrances fully comply with UK cosmetic safety regulations.

Every scent undergoes:

  • Full CPSR (Cosmetic Product Safety Report) approval
  • Allergen and stability assessments
  • Packaging and label compliance checks
  • UK Government portal registration

EU compliance has also passed — we are currently finalising the Responsible Person stage so we can begin shipping to the EU very soon.

🌿 Are these exact replicas of the originals?

Our scents are our own interpretations, inspired by long-discontinued fan favourites.

While we work extremely hard to capture the atmosphere, memory, and personality of each fragrance, creating an exact 1:1 match is not scientifically possible without the original manufacturer’s formula.

So while these are very close, they are still our own recreated versions.

🌍 Do you ship internationally?

Yes — we currently ship to the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, and selected non-EU countries.

International shipping is handled from the UK.

We are slowly adding more countries.

If your country isn’t available yet, email us at fragrance@thecardigandepartment.com with your request so we can assess demand and potentially add it.

EU customers:

Shipping to the EU is temporarily paused while we complete the EU Responsible Person setup — this is the final compliance step.

EU shipping will reopen very soon.

📦 Will I have to pay import fees?

Possibly — this depends on your country’s customs rules.

  • USA:
    No additional fees expected. We use a Royal Mail system that pre-pays US import charges.
  • Canada:
    Import duties may apply depending on your province.
  • Australia:
    Most orders under AU$1,000 do not incur duties, but this can vary.
  • Non-EU Europe:
    Charges vary depending on your country’s tax laws.

Import duties are the buyer’s responsibility. These fees are not controlled by us.

📬 How long does delivery take?

UK Orders

  • Dispatched in 1–3 working days
  • Delivered via Royal Mail 48
  • Arrives within 1–3 working days after dispatch

International Orders

  • Dispatched in 1–3 working days
  • Delivered within 7–14 working days
  • Most parcels arrive in around 10 working days

Please note: shipping speed can vary due to customs processing times.

🎁 Do you offer gift packaging?

Gift packaging is coming soon — but with a twist.

We will be launching gift box bundles, where you can purchase multiple fragrances together in a premium presentation box with ribbon and special details.

Single-item gift wrapping will not be available, but combo gift boxes will launch shortly.

🔁 What is your return policy?

Due to the nature of perfumes, we do not accept returns for change of mind once the product has been opened, used, or tested.

To be eligible for a return, the fragrance must be:

  • Completely unused
  • In its original box
  • In sellable condition
  • Returned to our UK office (contact us first)

If the item arrives damaged or incorrect, we will replace or refund it at no cost to you.

🔮 Will you be releasing more scents?

Yes — but not until 2026.
